Carter WO Carburetor Lower Throttle Body, Rebuilt Original. Not a Reproduction!
We are proud to exclusively offer these reconditioned, original, Carter WO throttle bodies with new throttle shaft and bushings.
This item is a rebuilt and reconditioned original throttle body base for the Carter WO carburetors used on the L134, four cylinder, Willys jeep engines. This base has the vacuum port on it indicating that this is not a WWII base. The WWII jeeps did not have this vacuum port on the lower throttle body. This vacuum port is commonly used for vacuum advance distributors, windshield wipers, etc. If you want an authentic Carter WO carb base for your CJ2A, CJ3A, etc., with the vacuum port then this is the base for you.
These Carter WO lower throttle bodies that Classic Military Vehicles offers are rebuilt and reconditioned, not reproduction pieces. This base has a new throttle shaft installed and bushings have been installed for this new throttle shaft to eliminate the common problem of vacuum leak at the shaft due to a worn out throttle shaft and egg shaped holes. You will never be successful with your Carter WO carburetor rebuild if you do not address the worn throttle shaft and worn throttle shaft holes. We have solved that problem for you by offering these reconditioned bases.
These Carter WO Carburetor bases have been cleaned and a parkerized finish has been applied. For those that may not know the base of the Carter WO Carburetor would have originally been parkerized to prevent corrosion. Parkerizing is a surface conversion that creates a iron-phosphate layer on the outer surface of the steel, producing a matte gray finish. And will protect the entire part because it gets into every nook and cranny unlike paint that should only be applied to the outside leaving exposed unprotected surfaces on the inside of the base. This parkarized finish really makes these reconditioned original bases “Pop” and stand out and will look great on your restoration project.
We have also utilized original linkage parts on these bases. There will be some minor wear present on the linkage parts simply because these are original parts. We have cleaned and polished the linkage parts. We have installed a fresh and new air fuel mixture screw as original ones are usually damaged from wear and tare.
Don’t forget to pick up a new base mounting gasket here before completing your order. We suggest the thicker base gasket to help with insulating the carb from the heat of the engine. We also suggest not using the throw back style “diffusing gasket” as they seem to create more problems and offer no real advantage. You can find our custom made mounting gasket here: BASE GASKET

NOTE: The above pictures are actually of one of our reconditioned Carter WO throttle body bases. There will be small variations on each base since they are original parts but each throttle body base that we offer will be very similar in appearance to the above pictures.
