Willys MB “Script” Body Tub, $1675
Willys MB Script body tub for sale. This is either a never used original body tub or a reporduction tub that never got used. No signs that this has ever been used.
The tub does not have a dent on it anywhere. All metal is straight. There are two rust through spots on the driver’s side indicating that it may have been stored standing up on the driver’s side for quite a while. Not sure what else could make it rust out that way.
The tub is coated on the bottom with some kind of thick undercoating that was put on with a brush. This undercoating is coming loose in some places and can be pealed away. I believe you could remove the undercoating without too much work. There are no holes in the glove box which suggests that there have never been any data plates on the glove box. The hat channels on the bottom are solid.
This tub has the “Willys” script embossed on the rear panel. Not completely sure if this is a never used original tub or a reproduction tub. Either way, this is a very nice and straight tub ready for your restoration project.. and about $1,000 less than a new reproduction tub.
