Below is a rebuttal of the Big Flat Forest Part 1 Trail Ride.
Dan, be sure your battery is strapped down this time – I don’t have much carbon tetrachloride left in my fire extinguisher to put out a brush fire. Besides, if your jeep burns down, that will be a long walk back to the truck. But of course, we’ll use your camera to take pictures so you can see what you missed. In any case, at least the boys will be saved from serious injury from the back seat being loose.
Dan, we’ll plan to join you at Barkshed Friday night. Wouldn’t want to miss the submarine races myself. I’m planning to camp on high ground – I hear that creek gets pretty deep. I might even wear my waders. Tell your boys that someone got Nick a set of flippers for Christmas.
We are sticking with flatfender jeeps, right B J ? Those hippie jeeps from the ‘70s are just boat anchors anyway. Come to think of it, I have a picture of Nick dragging one into a pond with my mighty MB – IN REVERSE GEAR!
BJ, March 15 gives you more than 6 weeks to get your MB motor back together if you don’t have any more “bad luck”. Call me if you forget how it goes back together & I’ll be sure to let everybody know you forgot how. If Lacy will do all the cooking, I can get a bunch of guys together at your place to watch your progress & tell you when you do something wrong.
A few pointers to get you started in the right direction:
· Always measure your spark plugs before you stick them in the holes.
· Make sure you know what’s in that SeaFoam can before you dump it in your gas tank.
· Changing the timing will not fix a blown head gasket.
As always, I appreciate the opportunity to share, and I’m really looking forward to this event. I’ll bring a comealong & tow strap – just in case it’s someone else’s turn this year!
